Supramolecular self-assembly of dendrimers containing orthogonal binding motifs.

Two orthogonal non-covalent binding sites, namely metal-ligand complexation of Ru and bipyridine and intermolecular hydrogen bonding, facilitate the self-assembly of a new type of supramolecular dendrimers.

Supramolecular Polymers with Orthogonal Functionality

Supramolecular Polymers with Orthogonal Functionality Report Title Supramolecular polymers with orthogonal interactions are of broad interest, and reports on such materials with multifunctional stimuli-responsive behavior are rare. Polymer blends based on a poly(ethylene-co-butylene) core (PEB) terminated with either 2-ureido-4[1H]-pyrimidinone (UPy) hydrogen-bonding motifs (UPy-PEB-UPy) or 2,6...

Functional motifs in Escherichia coli NC101

Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria can damage DNA of the gut lining cells and may encourage the development of colon cancer according to recent reports. Genetic switches are specific sequence motifs and many of them are drug targets. It is interesting to know motifs and their location in sequences. At the present study, Gibbs sampler algorithm was used in order to predict and find functional m...

Pillar[5]arene-based polymeric architectures constructed by orthogonal supramolecular interactions.

Ureidopyrimidinone functionalized pillar[5]arene (UPyP5) was synthesized and employed to complex with a bisparaquat derivative (G) to form supramolecular polymers at relatively high concentration. The orthogonal binding interactions including quadruple hydrogen bonding and host-guest interaction should play vital roles in the construction of this linear assembly.
